ఒక చిన్న పల్లెటూరిలో ఒక ఆలయం ఉంది. ఆ ఆలయంలో నిత్య పూజ కార్యక్రమాలు చేయడానికి మరియూ ఆ గ్రామంలో విశేషంగా ఏ పండగలు-పబ్బాలు వచ్చినప్పుడు పూజలు చేయడానికి ఒక బ్రహ్మచారి బ్రాహ్మణున్ని ఆ ఊరి కరణంగారు కలిసి తీసుకు రావడం జరిగింది. ఆ వచ్చిన బ్రాహ్మణుడు చాలా నిష్టాపరుడు. నిత్యం వేద పఠనం చేస్తుండేవాడు. ఎంతో పొద్దున్నే లేచి సంధ్యావందనం చేసుకుని గాయత్రి మంత్రం చదువుకుంటూ ఆ దేవున్నీ, ఆ పూజా గృహాన్ని కడిగి తుడిచీ, నిత్యం ఎంతో అలంకారాలు అవీ చేస్తూ  నిత్య పూజలన్నీ నిర్వహిస్తుండేవాడు. బ్రహ్మచారి కావడమూ, దేవుని నిష్ఠ పాటించడమూ, ఆహార నియమాలు పాటించడం వల్ల దేహ దారుఢ్యమ్  కలిగి చూడడానికి చాలా అందంగా కనిపిస్తూ ఉండేవాడు.

ఈ కథని జ్ఞాన పీఠం అవార్డ్ పొందిన కవి సామ్రాట్టు అయిన శ్రీ విశ్వనాథ సత్యనారాయణ గారు వ్రాసిన నవలలో ఈ సంఘటన గురించి చెప్పడం జరిగింది. ఇది వాస్తవంగా జరిగిన సంఘటనయే.

పూర్వం కృష్ణా జిల్లాలో ఎక్కడో ఒక చిన్న పల్లెటూరు ఉండేది. ఆ పల్లెటూరిలో ఒక బ్రాహ్మణ కుటుంబం ఉండేది. వారికి వ్యవసాయం చేసుకోవడానికి కొన్నిఎకరాల భూములుఉండేవి . ఆ బ్రాహ్మణుడు పాలేర్లని పెట్టుకుని వ్యవసాయం చేస్తుండే వాడు. ఎంతో కొంత వేద పఠనము, జ్యోతిష్యం, ఈ పంచాంగమంతా చూసేవాడు. వాళ్లకి తోచిన సలహాలేవో ఇస్తుండే వాడు. ఆ రోజుల్లో బ్రాహ్మణులకి ఎంతో కొంత వ్యవసాయం చేసుకోవడానికి భూములు ఉండేవి. ఆ బ్రాహ్మణుడి దగ్గర ఒక పాలేరు పని చేస్తుండే వాడు. చాలా మంచి వాడు.

You will be happy to know that we are starting a new series/serial "Mother Tell Me A Story" by Smt. Nathavajhula Srilalitha.

In our childhood days, we the children, particularly during summer holidays after having dinner, surround our mother's, grandmother's, grandfather's and other elders and pester them to tell stories. The stories told by them were not only interesting but also educative with a lot of morals. 

There is a child in all of us irrespective of our age, and this child is always hungry to listen to the stories which had great influence in understanding our culture, social responsibilities and molding our character.

Particularly in our elders like mother's, grandmother's, grandfather's in joint families have played a very important  role in inculcating human values to build up a very positive and harmonious world around us.

ఒక సారి బహుశా గురువారం అనుకుంటాను నాకు మార్గదర్శకుడైన స్వామీజీ వారి దగ్గరకు వెళ్లాను. నాకు అంతకుముందే మా ఇంటికి లలితా పరమేశ్వరి ఉపాసకురాలు వస్తారు. ఆవిడ అమ్మవారి విషయాలు చెప్తుంటారు.నీవు తప్పకుండా వచ్చి వారిని కలుసుకోవలసింది అని ఆదేశమిచ్చారు. అదే సమయంలో నా ఆధ్యాత్మిక మిత్రుడై నటువంటి , షిరిడి సాయి బాబా భక్తుడు ఫోన్ చేసి మీరు తప్పకుండా వారిని కలవాల్సిందే . నేను మీ గురించి అప్పుడే ఆవిడకి చెప్పాను అని చెప్పాడు. ఇద్దరి ఆదేశాల ప్రకారం నేను స్వామీజీ వారింటికి ఆవిడని కలుసుకోవడానికి వెళ్లాను. కాస్సేపటికి ఆవిడ వచ్చారు. ఆవిడ చాలా ప్రశాంతంగా ఉన్నారు.

ఆవిడ M.A. పట్టభద్రురాలు. ఆవిడ మాతృభాష తమిళం అయినప్పటికీ తెలుగు చాలా బాగా మాట్లాడుతారు. అదే విధంగా ఇంగ్లీష్ కూడా ధారాళంగా మాట్లాడుతారు. మా స్వామీజీ వారు కూడా తమిళము , తెలుగు , ఇంగ్లీష్ ఈ మూడు భాషలు చాలా బాగా మాట్లాడగలరు. నేను మా గురువుగారి ప్రక్కనే కూర్చున్నాను. అప్పుడు కొంచెం ఆధ్యాత్మిక  విషయాల మీద చర్చ జరిగింది. ఆవిడ కొన్ని విషయాలు నాతో చెప్పారు. అవే విషయాలు నేను బయటకి మీతో చెప్తాను.
